Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh is making waves across the pond in Canada and has leaned into one particular colour for her travelling wardrobe – navy. The Duchess touched down in the nation for an official visit last week, and has attended a number of events representing the Royal Family.
While Sophie has met with many locals during her visit so far, there was one in particular who seemed particular charmed by her – Josie, a puppy. Photographs from The Duchess’ visit to the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society showed her cuddling up with a number of four-legged friends, including dog Josie (below).
For the day out, Sophie wore her colour of the moment – navy – in the form of Frame’s Cotton The Tweed Jacket. The short, collarless button-up is a chic choice, which Sophie wore open for a more casual feel.

A day earlier, Sophie opted for another navy look – a flowing, tie-waist navy dress. She was attending the Blacksmith World Champion event, visiting the Royal Horse Artillery and meeting children from the Diamond Willow Vaulting Club.
Sophie first arrived in Calgary, Alberta, in the south of the country last week, and was spotted heading into the Fairmont Palliser Hotel for the Internationalists Dinner. She kicked off her navy trend with a floral midi dress by Erdem (see here), which she’s worn previously. Sophie added a white double-breasted blazer by Altuzarra draped demurely over her shoulders, another one of her regular wears – most recently seen at this year’s Wimbledon tournament. She also added the Sophie Habsburg ‘Cleo’ bag in a navy crocodile print.
However, The Duchess did briefly break from her navy uniform to inject a splash of colour with a fuchsia print midi dress, again, by Erdem. Sophie was attending a dinner to mark a sports and entertainment complex’s 50th anniversary at Riding Hall Circle in Spruce Meadows, on Saturday (6 September).
