The Princess of Wales has had a busy few days, and was back out today (Monday 8 September) for a sentimental visit. Today marks three years since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and the Prince and Princess visited the National Federation of Women’s Institute in Sunningdale, to commemorate the three-year anniversary.

During their visit, the royal couple met with WI members to find out more about the organisation’s work creating community engagement and opportunities for women to learn new skills and socialise. Photographs from the day show Prince William and Kate smiling and chatting with the members over tea and cake.

After stepping out at the Natural History Museum with blonde hair last week, The Princess of Wales’ hair appeared noticeably darker and more like her usual brunette locks during today’s visit, with more of her usual chocolatey tones.

Prince William and Kate leaving the WI event on 8 September.

For the WI visit, Kate opted for a timeless tartan dress with a statement Peter Pan collar. The wide lapels (front and back) are outlined in crimped ruffles, adding a feminine edge to the steely grey hue of the dress. Further frill detailing on the puff sleeves compliment this feel, as does a subtle peplum ‘collar’ along the waistline.

We particularly love the classic tartan print of the midi dress which is lined with subtle threads of pink, while the diamanté buttons down the centre of the bodice really bring it to life. Kate’s dress appears to be the ‘Wide Collar Dress’ by Alessandra Rich (currently out of stock).

Over the weekend, both The Prince and Princess of Wales were busy supporting the Women’s Rugby World Cup England and Wales rugby teams, with the Red Roses heading to the Quarter Finals next.
