Firstly, her brand-new twisty thriller The Guest is arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer today, which is a very good place to start. There's also a royal series to work your way through and a Paramount+ thriller that's as brilliant as our beloved Keeping Faith. So, clear your diary, because these are the best Eve Myles dramas to watch now on ITV, the BBC, Netflix and more. Happy watching!
The Crow Girl
Dark and pacy, The Crow Girl is easily our thriller of the year. Eve plays DCI Jeanette Kilburn, a tough, unfiltered detective who's paired up with psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) to lead an investigation into a series of grisly murders in Bristol. For the role, Eve got into character by watching true crime documentaries and binged 24 Hours in Police Custody - and that research clearly paid off! If you've seen Keeping Faith (if not, read about it below), we think it's just as good and that's saying something. Watch all six episodes of series 1 now on Paramount+.
What to read next
Keeping Faith
Eve’s role as Faith Howells was a life-altering one, as 2017’s Wales-set Keeping Faith was a breakout hit. The bilingual BBC drama (in Welsh named Un Bore Mercher) broke records, with Eve playing a dedicated solicitor and mum-of-three. When her partner vanishes without a trace during her maternity leave, Faith’s life is turned upside down as she’s thrust into an unrelenting search for him. You can watch all 3 series of Keeping Faith on BBC iPlayer now.
Torchwood
It was Eve’s appearance in Doctor Who (as clairvoyant Gwyneth) that led to her starring in the show’s 2006 spin-off - making her known to millions as Gwen Cooper. Gwen is a police constable from Cardiff who stumbles across secret alien-hunting organisation Torchwood, becoming one of its core members. Fierce, empathetic and brave, Eve’s role is an asset to modern British sci-fi - and you can watch all 4 series on BBC iPlayer now.
Broadchurch
You may not remember that Eve starred in the second series of Broadchurch in 2015 as ex-hairdresser Claire Ripley - a deeply troubled woman with a murky past. The estranged wife of Lee Ashworth, Claire is a key (but unreliable) witness in the unsolved Sandbrook murder case - making her a pivotal figure in the plot, and Eve plays her with a thoughtful mix of vulnerability and menace. You can watch series 1 to 3 of Broadchurch (with Eve in series 2) now on ITVX.
Hijack
We love a nail-biting real-time thriller, and Apple TV+’s Hijack found Eve delivering the drama alongside Idris Elba. Eve stars as Alice Sinclair, a composed air traffic controller who's thrust into a world of chaos when a flight from Dubai to London gets - you guessed it - hijacked. Her graceful and authoritative handling of everything from the ground made her a standout in the series - which you can watch now on Apple TV+.
Victoria
A historical royal drama with period costumes and Eve Myles? Boxes officially ticked. The 2016 ITV series follows Queen Victoria (played by Jenna Coleman) with Eve starring as the royal’s senior dresser Mrs Jenkins. Not only does she manage her clothes, she also acts as a close confidant to the Queen - and Eve plays her as a warm, kind-hearted and loyal member of the royal household. Eve stars in series 1 of Victoria, which you can watch (along with 2 and 3) on ITVX now.
The Guest
As soon as it was announced, we were immediately taken by the concept of the BBC's toxic workplace thriller, which follows two women from very different worlds. The Guest sees Eve playing high-flying business owner Fran who employs Ria (Gabrielle Creevy) as a cleaner. As Ria begins working for Fran, things take an odd turn - and an alluring power struggle ensues. You can watch all four episodes on BBC iPlayer now.
We Hunt Together
Detective duo dramas are best when there’s great chemistry - and Eve has exactly that with Babou Ceesay (playing DI Jackson Mendy) in 2020 Alibi drama We Hunt Together. Eve stars as Babou’s sharp and emotionally guarded counterpart, DI Lola Franks. Together they investigate a spate of killings carried out by an unusual couple in a gripping take on the classic cat-and-mouse genre. You can catch series 1 and 2 on NOW.
Frankie
2013 BBC drama Frankie saw Eve playing the titular Frankie Maddox, a district nurse working in Bristol. Compassionate and headstrong, Frankie is adored by her patients - but deep down she’s struggling to balance the demands of her job with her chaotic private life. Eve plays Frankie as messy, lively and relatable - and you can watch all of the heartwarming series 1 on Apple TV+ now.
