It's that time of year again - Venice Film Festival is upon us and the stars of the screen are descending on the water-lined Italian city in all their glamour. The red carpet was rolled out for the opening night on Wednesday (27 August), and there was one supermodel duo in particular which caught our eye.

Walking the red carpet together, Heidi Klum arrived with her daughter and fellow model, Leni wearing co-ordinating gowns. The mother-daughter pair both looked stunning in corset-style, floor-length dresses with sheer panelling. Heidi opted for a romantic, dusty pink silk gown, while daughter Leni chose an inky black number paired with the Marlene Jewel Heel Sandals by Roger Vivier. Both dresses were designed by lingerie brand Intimissimi.

Taking to social media, Heidi shared plenty of behind-the-scene photographs getting dressed into her glamorous gown in her Venice hotel room. These included shots alongside Leni before, during and after the event where Heidi said that she had been, 'having the best time with my baby' at the festival.

Other shots show Heidi reclining on the back of a boat - her way into the festival. Many stars have been seen making the iconic journey along Venice's waterways in gleaming boats, including Julia Roberts.

The actor was spotted arriving in Venice ahead of the main events wearing a knitted cardigan which was covered in the faces of Italian director Luca Guadagnino, who directed her most recent film After the Hunt.

Venice Film Festival runs from Wednesday 27 August to Saturday 6 September.
