Ingredients
2Tbsp.
vegetable oil
1/2tsp.
turmeric
1tsp.
ground cumin
1tsp.
ground coriander
2tsp.
garam masala
1/2tsp.
ground ginger
275g
natural yogurt
12
chicken drumsticks
2Tbsp.
mango chutney
Small handful coriander, roughly chopped
20g
flaked almonds, toasted
Directions
Step 1In a small bowl, mix the oil, spices, 3tbsp yogurt and 1tsp salt. Transfer to a large food bag, add the chicken drumsticks, seal and mix. Alternatively, mix in a large bowl and cover. Marinate in the fridge for at least 3hr (up to 24hr).
Step 2Barbecue or griddle the drumsticks over medium heat for 25-30min, turning regularly, until charred and cooked through. Alternatively, empty the drumsticks into a large ovenproof serving dish and cook in an oven preheated to 200°C (180°C fan) mark 6 for 20-25min, turning halfway, or until cooked through.
Step 3To serve, mix the remaining yogurt and some seasoning in a serving bowl and swirl through the mango chutney. Transfer the drumsticks to a platter and sprinkle over the coriander and flaked almonds. Serve with the yogurt sauce.
