Gin lovers dreaming of a pink Christmas can get their hands on a new flavour from Lidl as the budget supermarket adds to its popular Hortus gins range.
Tickling customers pink for the festive season, the new Hortus Premium Pink Gin, which costs £15.99 for 700ml and is available in stores now, is a juniper-led Botanical Dry Gin with a twist of raspberry and blackberry flavours to give a subtle berry finish - and it’s perfect for making cocktails this Christmas.
Traditionally regarded as a cocktail of Plymouth Gin and Angostura bitters, pink gin has risen in popularity over the years, with reports showing that over a quarter of all gin shoppers bought flavoured gin this year, compared to only seven percent five years ago.

Lidl, which has seen a massive 40 percent rise in gin sales this year, sold over 644 bottles of its Gin Liqueurs per hour over Christmas 2017.
Much like its clear counterpart, the London Dry Gin, the Hortus Pink Gin tastes delicious in a 1:2 ratio in a gin and tonic, but can also be sipped in a Prosecco and lemonade concoction or as a punch with cranberry juice and lemonade - delish!
Paul Gibson, Buying Director at Lidl UK, said: ‘We’re excited to launch this vibrant Premium Pink Gin as part of the Hortus range in time for the festive season. We predict that this fresh and fruity take on one of our best-loved spirits will become a regular in the drinks cabinet.’
