These tender, craggy drop biscuits are much easier to make than the rolled kind. Made with Cheddar and Old Bay compound butter, they’re reminiscent of the ones from a certain chain restaurant but, dare we say, even better?

Ingredients
- 2 cups
self-rising flour
- 1/2 tsp.
Old Bay Seasoning
- 1/4 tsp.
kosher salt
- 1/2 cup
Old Bay–Lemon Butter, cold and cubed
- 3 oz.
extra-sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 cup)
- 1 cup
buttermilk
Directions
- Step 1Heat oven to 450°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. In large bowl, whisk together flour, Old Bay, and salt. Using fingers, rub in butter until coarse crumbs form. Add Cheddar and toss to combine. Mix in buttermilk with rubber spatula just until dough comes together. Drop spoonfuls of dough (12 total) onto prepared baking sheet. Bake until golden, 17 to 19 minutes.
