Need a savory Halloween snack? Try these naturally orange-and-black Cheddar cheese crackers studded with black sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz.

    extra-sharp orange Cheddar, coarsely grated

  • 3

    large egg whites

  • 1/4 cup

    all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp.

    black sesame seeds

Directions

    1. Step 1In food processor, pulse Cheddar and egg whites until smooth. Add flour and black sesame seeds; pulse to combine.
    2. Step 2Divide mixture (it will be sticky) between 2 large sheets of parchment paper cut to the size of a cookie sheet. Cover each with additional sheet of parchment and roll until paper-thin. 
    3. Step 3Transfer paper (and dough) to 2 cookie sheets and freeze until firm, 20 minutes.
    4. Step 4Meanwhile, heat oven to 300°F. Discard top layer of parchment and bake until golden and crisp, rotating halfway through cooking, 45 to 50 minutes total. Let cool, then break into pieces.
