The Rookie season 8 isn't airing on TV just yet ... but Eric Winter seems to be sharing a major update that has fans concerned about what's to come.
With the ABC drama coming back for another season in winter of 2026, viewers are already anticipating new storylines for the folks working at LAPD Mid-Wilshire. While most of what season 8 will entail is being kept on the down low, Eric (who plays Tim Bradford) decided he'd like to give folks a sneak peek of how filming is going for season 8.
As Eric posted a series of photos to Instagram on September 8, fans got a chance to see him behind the scenes of shooting the upcoming installment. Amid photos from what appears to be an apartment, he also shared a selfie of him in a hospital gown with scratches all over his face. And if that's not enough, Eric also joked that his job filming The Rookie is not as easy as viewers may think.
"Tough job but somebody has to do it … #bradford," he jested in the caption.
Given how Eric seemingly dropped a major spoiler in regards to his character on The Rookie, folks immediately got concerned about his fate in future episodes.
"TIMMMMM. ARE YOU OKAYYYYY SHOULD WE TELL LUCYYY???" one person screamed in the comments, referencing Tim's on-and-off girlfriend Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil). "Bradford in the hospital again?? Whattt," another inquired. "HELLO THE SCRATCHES WHAT SCRAPED YOU UP BRADFORD," a different follower added.
Well, this certainly has us puzzled for what's to come on The Rookie season 8! And let's not forget that Eric isn't the only one back on set and filming the all-new installment.
Melissa shared back in August how she and Lisseth Chavez (who plays Celina Juarez) are also shooting for the show, while Nathan Fillion (who portrays John Nolan), Jenna Dewan (who plays Bailey Nune), and Mekia Cox (who portrays Nyla Harper) went international in early July to film in Prague, Czech Republic. And this is all ahead of new episodes airing next year ... meaning we still have a lot more to go before the show premieres on TV.
Consider us intrigued and ready to see what's next!
