The Pitt fans, it looks like Noah Wyle is adding one more role to his résumé for season 2.
The latest installment of the hit HBO Max drama is in the middle of filming, and folks already can't wait for the season 2 premiere in January 2026. Ahead of seeing new episodes air, though, folks learned that Noah (who plays Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch) won't just be acting this time around. As it turns out, he has one other major job he's taking on this season.
As a report from TV Insider indicated on August 19, Noah is set to direct what seems to be the sixth episode of The Pitt season 2. And if that wasn't enough to excite fans, the Emmy Award nominee made sure to go on Instagram to confirm the thrilling news himself.
"Never want to wake up from this dream," he wrote alongside an image of his name on a film clapperboard while on set.
As soon as viewers learned of Noah's surprising career move for The Pitt, they immediately congratulated him for this exciting new feat.
"I couldn’t love this more. Can’t wait for season 2! 🙌🏼," one person wrote in the comments. "Yessssssssss Director Sir! 🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍," another cheered. "Makes me so happy to see all this happen for you. Let’s do this!!! 🙌," a different follower added.
Looks like we have one more thing to be excited about with The Pitt season 2! And for those who are unaware, this isn't the only project where Noah has found himself working behind the camera.
According to the former ER star's official IMDB page, Noah has actually directed a few different projects over the years. His first time as a director took place in 2015, when he directed a season 5 episode of Falling Skies. Noah then went on to direct five episodes of The Librarians from 2015 through 2018, along with five episodes of Leverage: Redemption between 2021 and 2022.
