Ninja just launched the Crispi Pro, a full-size glass air fryer that is an updated version of the portable Ninja Crispi. Glass air fryers have become more and more popular because some people prefer to avoid the nonstick coatings of most traditional standalone air fryers. But in our testing over the years, we've found that the tradeoff was that glass didn't deliver the best cooking results. Glass air fryers weren't able to crisp foods or provide a quality golden brown color like traditional air fryers.
Here at the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab, we've tested more than 50 air fryers, from air fryer toaster ovens to small air fryers. I’ve personally tested over 20 models and can tell you firsthand that not all are created equal. Though I'm still testing the Ninja Crispi Pro, I can say that it is one of the best glass air fryers our Lab has tested so far.
What is the Ninja Crispi Pro?
Ninja's new Crispi Pro is an air fryer with two removable glass cooking vessels that double as food storage containers. The original Crispi was introduced to the market in late 2024. It had the same storage container concept, but it was small and portable. The Crispi Pro is full size and designed to stay in your kitchen. (Sorry, but this isn't the one for your Ninja Crispi at the Office TikToks.)
The Crispi Pro comes with a 2.5-quart container for smaller meals and a 6-quart container that's large enough to fit a whole chicken. It's designed with an adjustable base that you manually move to different positions to support the different containers. Each container includes a removable nonstick crisping tray that sits at the bottom of the glass as well as a lid for storage.
This new model has six presets, including Air Fry, MaxCrisp, Recrisp, Roast, Bake/Proof, and Dehydrate. Each preset automatically adjusts to a corresponding temperature, ranging from 150˚F when on the dehydrate setting to 450˚F when using the MaxCrisp setting. After selecting a preset, you can adjust the temperature if necessary and set the cooking time to your liking.

Our testing results so far
The Ninja Crispi Pro is brand-new to the market, and we are in the process of testing, but here are our results so far:
✔️ French fry testing: We performed the test with both the 2.5- and 6-quart containers and found the air fryer did a great job of browning in both sizes. But we noticed that the fries from the smaller container were drier and overcooked, while the ones in the larger container were more tender and moist while maintaining a crispy exterior.
✔️ Wings and mozzarella stick testing: When we air-fried a pound of chicken wings, we were surprised by the results: The wings were crispy and had even browning, and they were still juicy on the inside. The mozzarella sticks had similar results: Though some began to ooze cheese during the cooking process, most were intact and—once we bit into them—had a nice cheese pull.
✔️ Whole chicken test: The Ninja Crispi Pro has a roasting function and claims to fit a whole chicken in its 6-quart glass container, so we put it to the test with a 3.5-pound chicken.
During the cooking process, we were concerned that the whole chicken wouldn't brown, but we were impressed. Though some areas were a bit more brown than others, the Crispi Pro did a good job cooking a whole chicken. The inside was moist, and while the skin had some dry spots, it ultimately had a nice texture and crisp. There was also enough space to add vegetables that could be roasted at the same time.
Pros and cons
The Ninja Crispi Pro is still new to the market, so we still have some testing to do, but these are some of features that we like and some to take note of.
Pros:
- The Pro has easy-to-use controls and functions—much easier than the original Crispi. The six presets range from 150˚F to 450˚F. Simply turn the dial to adjust the temperature.
- It creates crisp and evenly browned foods. When testing wings and mozzarella sticks specifically, we were impressed with the crispy exterior and moist interior.
- The bigger glass container size is a plus for the Crispi Pro. You can cook for a larger group with the addition of the 6-quart container. The original Crispi, which includes a 6-cup and a 4-quart container, was best when cooking for one or two people.
- The glass cooking vessels come with lids and double as food storage containers. This is ideal for meal prepping or simply reheating leftover meals.
- The sleek design was something that stood out when we opened the new model in our Lab. Kitchen appliance analysts agreed that the Crispi Pro is one that looks good enough leave out on your countertop.
Cons:
- Though it's a glass air fryer, the crisp tray that sits at the bottom of the containers is nonstick. You don't have to use the tray if you're avoiding cooking with nonstick cookware, but it does help air circulate around the food to provide crispiness and color.
- The handles get hot. The brand recommends using oven mitts, and we agree: Wear mitts to prevent burning your hands. Also be cautious of the glass; it holds lots of heat as well and can burn you if not handled properly.
- This model has a learning curve. The adjustable base can be tricky to adjust and takes some getting used to.
